Halcombe Memorial Hall
|
Originally intended to be used as a picture theatre, the hall was built for Mrs Amelia Managh to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of King George V in 1938. In 1950, the hall was acknowledged as a memorial to local men killed in the two World Wars and it was renamed the Halcombe Memorial Hall. The much-loved building has been well-utilized over the years for a wide range of community events, sports fixtures, committee meetings and family celebrations. Despite its age, the Hall has been well-maintained and routinely renovated, and today is an excellent venue for your next event!

The venue consists of the main hall with stage, supper room, kitchen, bar, storage room, and female and male toilets. The hall is fully accessible, "wheelchair-friendly" and includes disability cubicles in both toilet areas. The property is protected by fire safety equipment and security alarms. There is a small gravel carpark alongside of the hall, as well as plenty of on-street parking.
A massive effort by the local community in 2019 enabled the complete refurbishment of the kitchen, bar and supper/meeting room areas, plus the addition of a dedicated cleaning station in the storeroom. The exterior was repainted and the building reroofed in 2023. Floors were resurfaced in August 2023.

The main hall retains the attractive wooden paneling and ornate plaster ceilings from its original era!
Both the kitchen and bar areas have been recently renovated and have modern appliances and an extensive range of catering equipment, including crockery and glassware. Furniture - tables, chairs, bench seating, trestles - and cleaning equipment is also available for the Hall user.
